Is ScriptSave Legitimate?

Medical Security Card Company LLC operates under the name of ScriptSave. They have been in business since 1994 and are a legit company.

Scriptsave WellRx has received a Trustpilot rating of 4.6 with 347 reviews.

This is a top-notch score compared to other prescription discount cards we have reviewed.

The few complaints were that the pharmacy did not accept or honor the coupon, and the price at the register did not match what the Scriptsave WellRx app and website listed.

How does ScriptSave WellRx work?

ScriptSave WellRx works with its parent company Medimpact a Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM), who has negotiated the prescription discounts with the pharmacies.

When you use the app or website, you can search for your medication, and a list of pharmacies with the lowest prices will populate.

Within the WellRx discount network, there is a wide range of prices because each pharmacy has a separate deal negotiated.

There is a four-step process to find the best prescription discount.

The screenshots below are taken from the ScriptSave WellRx mobile app.

Step 1

If you have an invite code or group number, enter it now. If you do not have this number or code, select “No.”

Step 2

Search your medication on the app or website to compare discounts in your local area.

Step 3

Once you enter your prescription, a list of pharmacies will display.

The price will depend on what deal the PBM negotiated with each specific pharmacy.

Select the pharmacy you would like to use.

In the example below, Walmart has the lowest price for the medication Vitamin D3 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Step 4

When you pick up your prescription, show your phone, card, or coupon to the pharmacist.

There have been negative reviews that the pharmacy price does not always match the discounted price when customers pay.

This is something that occasionally happens with prescription discount cards in general. Our SingleCare review shows it also had glitches when it came to pricing.

⭐️ Tip - Before using any specific prescription discount card, it is crucial that you compare cards against each other.

Each medication and coupon card has different prices. Using the wrong card at the wrong pharmacy can cause you to significantly overpay for your prescription.

Signing up for a WellRx Account

WellRx has the option of signing up for a free account. This step is optional but may be right for you.

You must provide your first and last name and email address to sign up. Once you have signed up, you can access several impressive features.

Medicine Chest

Medicine Chest is a beneficial tool that will allow you to stay organized with your medications and other great features, including drug information, a medical journal, a mood log, pricing alerts, and more.

It also gives you access to their telephone service, “Ask a Pharmacist,” if you have any questions about your medication.

Grocery Guidance

Another neat feature from the WellRx app is Grocery Guidance.

This allows you to understand better what food in the grocery store you should buy and what you should stay away from for overall health.

How does it work?

Scan the barcode of any food in the grocery store, and you will be given data on the ingredients and calories of that item.

For example, I went to the supermarket and scanned a ketchup bottle.

The results were very informative and helped me make a healthy purchasing decision.
